That time I finally got published!

The first time I was published in National Geographic was an incredible moment for me as an amateur photographer.

Asher Jay set up a yourshot assignment called "Eye Spy"...the premise of the assignment was to tell a visual story comprised of three images told from the perspective of the subject, effectively removing any bias and rendering the photographer a silent observer.

The prerequisite was a photo of the viewers eye open, then closed and what they were looking at. I was in awe of the aurora borealis at the time and I really didn't have the greatest of camera gear as I was just starting out. So i came up with the idea to have a photo of my own eye open, a shot of the aurora reflected on my face with closed eyes and then a photo of the aurora borealis I was looking at.

I was lucky enough to catch the editors attention with my concept and ultimately had my visual story published in National Geographic.
